FAQ
Common questions about repairs, turnaround, and what we can and can’t fix.
How long does a repair take?
Most repairs are done within 3–7 days of the suit landing on the bench. Bigger jobs (full zip replacements, multiple tears) might run 7–10. We text you when it arrives, when we quote it, and when it ships back.
Do I pay before you start?
No. We inspect the suit, send a fixed quote with photos, and wait for your yes before we glue a thing. If you say no, we post it back at cost.
Is my suit worth saving?
Usually yes — but not always. If the neoprene’s gone brittle, or the seams have all let go, we’ll tell you straight. We’d rather lose the job than sell you a fix that won’t hold.
Do you work on any brand?
Every brand. Patagonia, Rip Curl, O’Neill, Xcel, Need Essentials, Janga, Vissla, Quiksilver, Billabong, Hurley, custom local makes — all of it. Neoprene is neoprene.
What if my suit is salty and damp?
Rinse it in fresh water and dry it inside-out for 24 hrs before sending. We can’t glue or stitch a wet, salty suit — the adhesives won’t bond.
Do you offer a warranty?
Three months on every repair. If our workmanship fails in that window, we redo it free, both-ways shipping included. See the warranty page for the full deal.
Where do I post my suit?
The Wetsuit Repair Shack, 9-11 Sinclair St, Ocean Grove VIC 3226. Use a tracked satchel. Ship-back is $15 flat, Australia-wide. See postage info.
Still got a question?
We answer every email within a day, usually within an hour. The phone’s on the bench Monday to Friday.
